Brazil: one 5LC crane builds a concrete silo in only 25 days

Grupo Tensor, official dealer for Linden Comansa in Brazil, has rented one 5LC 5010 crane to Votorantim, Brazil’s biggest concrete manufacturer. This multinational company is enlarging its facilities in the town of Nobres, in the Mato Grosso state, where the crane has been needed to build a 57 meter high concrete silo in only 25 days.

The 5LC 5010, with 5 tonnes of maximum load, has been erected at a height of 65 meters and tied to the silo. It has a jib length of 15 meters, although this model could have been erected with a 50 meter long jib. The crane has been working at high speed, due to the necessities of the job: the silo had to rise 4 centimeters each hour, and be finished in only 25 days.

The job has been successfully done in the estimated time, and the crane has been already dismantled after the works. The 5LC 5010 in now on Grupo Tensor’s facilities, being prepared for a next job.
